Slate rocks.

Mark Morford reads Slate. (Scroll down to the fourth paragraph after the end of the long list of lies about the war.)

Even if you can't find time for an actual newspaper, taking the time to read Slate's Today's Papers, International Papers, and maybe one or two of the opinion columns, will drastically improve your comprehension of what's going on in the world. Chatterbox, Readme, Moneybox, Ballot Box, and War Stories are all highly recommended, as is the occasional The Dismal Science; and you can't go wrong with Chris Hitchens' Fighting Words -- even if his vitriolic writing makes you want to strangle him, at least it's thought-provoking. I read pretty much everything in Slate, and it takes me no more than an hour a day.
