Sierra Club rally, March 17 -- Fight Global Warming!

Unfortunately (well, from some angles) Xta and I can't make it to this, since we'll be in Death Valley... But, if any of you can go to support the cause, Carl Pope is a pretty good speaker...

Dear Friend of the Environment,

Did you see that Al Gore' movie "The Inconvenient Truth" won an Oscar on Monday? Global Warming is finally reaching the mainstream and Sierra Club members like you are making a big difference. Dozens of local Sierra Club members are working with "Cool Cities" across the Silicon Valley and Peninsula region to promote local solutions to reduce harmful global warming emissions. We're holding our kick-off rally on Sunday March 18, 2007 in Redwood City with Sierra Club Executive Director Carl Pope.

Can you join us?

When:
Sunday March 18, 2007
2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Where:
Historic Carrington Hall
Sequoia High School
1201 Brewster Avenue
Redwood City, CA

Can you join us for the big global warming kick-off rally?
If you can't attend the rally, can you sign the petition asking local leaders to take action on global warming?

Please RSVP today: http://lomaprietaglobalwarming.sierraclub.org/rsvp.php

I hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

P.S. If you can't make the rally, please sign our petition calling on your city's Mayor to take immediate action against global warming by signing the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement and implementing a Climate Action Plan to reduce global warming emissions in our community: http://lomaprietaglobalwarming.sierraclub.org/petition.php
