In another thirty years, will you be allowed to be irresponsible and self-destructive again? I've got twenty to go. I'm thinking for old ladies that might start around age sixty, but I don't know when it starts for guys.
I dunno. Isn't the midlife crisis thing, where you go out and get a car and a girlfriend inappropriate for someone your age, supposed to happen around 50?
I'm not particularly planning to have one of those, though. Nobody in my family seems to have done that...
Oh come now. The irresponsibilty and self-destruction continue, but we have more appropriate navel gazing names for them, and at times experience guilt and regret when our sins become evident in the morning.
Y'know, we had a figgy dessert at Citizen Cake on Sunday ("Figs in Space", which is roasted figs and pine nuts on sheets of crispy phyllo dough, with a drizzle of honey and olive oil and a scoop of mastic ice cream) and I was doodling "Fig 1 and Fig 2" on the table surface, using a bit of condensation off the side of the water glasses. (As the water dried it left patterns you could see, from the right angle.)
Happy birthday! But you're still a teenager in hexadecimal, so you're definitely still allowed to be irresponsible. Self-destructive might require a permission slip from your parent or guardian, though.
And congratulations on completing your first Saturn return! It is one of the hardest cycles we go through (28-30 yrs old) and it IS all about being focused and responsible... I think your new school endeavors are a strong symptom of the Saturn energy coming to successful fruition for you.
The folks on the other side of 30 haven't been through that Saturn refinement process yet which is why they look feel and taste different to those of us who have crossed that particular Rubicon.
In more good news is 40 is even better than 30. I've never been happier or more settled inside my own skin than since I turned another round decade old.

And as I always tell almost all of my friends, none of you are actually old.
I'm still 23. That's what my fake ID says and I'm sticking with it.
