Anybody want to be a poll clerk?
Santa Clara County is still looking for people to work the polls.

Tell them that Robert Michael Harman, inspector for precinct 2005, referred you.

I'll be working the Alameda County polls, but thanks for the heads-up. :)

Are you inspectoring or clerking?

I... don't know. I volunteered for both, but nothing on the reply card I got made my role clear to me.

Ah. I guess it's early for them to have actually assigned roles yet.

Yes, they are really. They told us so in my training class, and I actually only have one clerk currently; they've given me three different names as second clerk; the first one was removed before I ever even called her, the second was a dead number (and the RoV office couldn't find a live number for her), and the third I've left three messages for, and haven't yet heard back from. I've told my Field Inspector, and they're going to try to find me yet another person. I may end up having to cope with just one clerk helping me in the morning, and a high-school student as a second clerk in the afternoon.
