Sustainable restaurant...
Tinderbox is run by a friend of a Presidian, and is offering "SLOW" (seasonal, local, organic, whole) produce and meats. The menu looks very good. And they have an extensive bonus point schedule on OpenTable.com. (The 1000-point reservation basically means you effectively get a $10 discount -- every 2000 points gets you a $20 gift certificate good at any OT restaurant.) I will have to find a reason to get over there, some time in the next few months...

Hmm, there's one space along that stretch of Cortland that has had a string of good-but-not-fantastic restaurants that last about 9 months each. I don't remember the address though...

Start at the WildSide bar, and walk down from there, so, Cortland and Andover.

Heh. I don't think the slow food movement hadn't come up with this acronym initially. It's good to see.

How's the new place? Also, if you're on the Presidio, then I'm usually easy to get to, whether at the g/f's place by the beach or along Polk, at my place.

I'm a student at the Presidio School of Management, which has its admin offices in the Presidio. Classes are currently at Fort Mason (four days a month). The rest of the time I'm still in the South Bay -- Xta and I live in East Palo Alto.

If you search for burr grinder on craig's list free section, there's someone giving away one, about 5 blocks from Cortland. She's left it in a box, outside. :)

Hey - we're less than a mile from bernal heights. Want to try to plan something - a four pack for when things cool down a bit?

Maybe the first Tue or Wed in March?

If I wanted to think creatively, I could suggest that we each make a two-person reservation at the same time, and then pretend we bumped into each other and ask to be seated together. Then we'd each get the discount. *g*
