Early Notice: Sat Jan 10, 10am: AD21 CA Dem Caucus

My first term as a member of the California Democratic Party State Central Committee is drawing to a close, which means it's time to drag any friends who live in Assembly District 21 to a caucus on a Saturday morning to re-elect me.

In order to vote, you need to live in AD21 (your Assemblyman would be Ira Ruskin), and you need to have been registered as a Democrat as of November 4th. (And I believe you need to have voted in the election, though of course you're not required to have voted for anyone in particular -- nobody can check on that anyhow.) If you're not sure who your rep is, try visiting Smart Voter, plugging in your street address and zip code, and then when it gives you the info from your November ballot, look for the State Assembly race; if it's District 21, then I need your support! (As a hint, the district runs approximate from San Carlos and Redwood City, down to the south end of Palo Alto, then west through Los Altos and around the edge of San Jose all the way down to Los Gatos. Here's a map.)

It'll be fun! There will be free bagels and juice and the like, and there are lots of smart, politically-engaged people to meet and chat with. Many will have been out on campaign in October and November. Hear stories about voters who ranged from strange, clueless, or even hostile; to friendly, funny, and enthusiastic. See how many different swing states you can collect! I went to Nevada, so there's the easiest one for free to start with. But I also know people who were in Colorado, New Mexico, and even Pennsylvania and Florida. :-)

Get there a little early, because there will be a line to get in and get the food. *nom!*
